The Athurugau Island Resort is 90 kilometres from the Maldives International Airport and it takes about 20 minutes to reach here from the airport. Filled with white sandy beaches and excellent flora and fauna this resort is a great place to spend your holiday at.

There are about 46 bungalows here at Athurugau Island Resort and they are all equipped with a king-size bed or two-queen size beds; modern and comfy cane furniture, individual air-conditioning system, ceiling fan, private stocked bar refrigerator, IDD telephone, safe deposit box, three channel in-house music, and a veranda which overlooks the sea, a view enjoyed by all the guest adults and children alike. And if you want to opt for something more luxurious you can try out the Garden Villas. There are only five Garden Villas available though.

Diving and snorkelling during your stay here are a must-try. You will surely appreciate the exceptional and vast underwater life at the house reefs located nearby this resort. And the resort has professional, fully-equipped dive centre called the Crab Dive Centre which offers a range of courses and also offer reef sightseeing trips on glass-bottomed boats. And plus the courses are conducted in Italian, English and German. And there is even a dive souvenir shop at this dive centre. Windsurfing in the Maldives will be a great idea too. Lagoons around the island are perfect for windsurfing.

You can also choose to spend a day on an uninhabited island which is usually done part of the island-hopping tour offered by the resort. You can basically just snorkel, sunbath or even have a picnic lunch while at the island. You will be able to go scuba diving and even sailing while on board the cruise.
